This scene was painted with pastel on Belgian Mist Wallis paper. Because I used somewhat different shades of greys and because of the different styles on left and right it looks like two different paintings. Looks a little like Edward Gorey on the left. This was the scene this afternoon across the street where the school was setting up it's annual picnic. My second painting is of one of the oak trees on our street. I wanted to get the effect of the evening light and shadows on the tree but was only a little successful.
